Safety & Health

Now more than ever, occupational safety and health and regulatory compliance have become monumental challenges in both public and private settings: schools, hospitals, laboratories, factories, offices, public facilities, military bases, and beyond.

In those environments, potential safety and health risks arise from equipment, chemicals, processes, facilities, technologies, waste treatment systems, chemical or biological attack, and more—all requiring close evaluation, monitoring, and control. An effective occupational safety and health program protects employees and citizens, while mitigating financial risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Horne has consistently met the challenges and can develop safety and health programs tailored to virtually any facility. We provide deep expertise in the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategic safety and health management systems that reduce liability, improve compliance, reduce accidents, increase safety, enhance employee involvement, and strengthen public image.

Our broad array of occupational safety and health, environmental safety and health, and compliance services include:

Customer Spotlight

Transportation Security Administration (TSA)

The mission: As part of the Department of Homeland Security, TSA is charged with protecting the nation’s transportation systems. At 444 airports across the U.S., some 45,000 TSA personnel are hard at work serving that mission. With a workforce of that magnitude, the TSA demands a top-notch nationwide Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Program.

Uniquely engineered: In the wake of 9/11, Horne answered the call—assisting the TSA in developing and implementing an OSH program at all of its 444 airports. Our services included initial hazard assessments, inspections, industrial hygiene services, mishap and incident investigations, reporting and recordkeeping, training development, technical research, policy development, and evaluations.
