Pentagon Force Protection Agency
The mission: In response to the terrorist attack against the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, the Department of Defense established the Pentagon Force Protection Agency. As part of the its mission, the force is charged with protecting against a full spectrum of threats--including biological agents--using a combination of robust prevention, preparedness, detection, and response measures.
Uniquely engineered: As part of a team led by Battelle Memorial Institute, Horne International personnel are collecting samples for a long-term study of ambient air in Department of Defense facilities throughout the National Capitol Region for the Pentagon Force Protection Agency. The team uses the latest technology to collect and analyze air samples around the clock to better prepare and protect against threats from biological contaminants.
