Environment, Safety, & Health

Preserve and protect — these are the hallmarks of Horne International’s focus on environment, safety, and health. Whether the mission is to ensure sustainability of natural resources or to protect workers and citizens, our environmental scientists and engineers and our occupational safety and health experts take the commitment seriously. Horne got its start by engineering unique solutions to complex environmental engineering challenges. Today, our strategic services for environment, safety, and health management are both broad and deep across three vital program areas:

When it comes to preserving and protecting the environment, safety, and health, Horne delivers the solutions necessary for sustainable design, site assessment, remediation, safety program development and implementation, hazardous materials inspection and monitoring, safety and health training programs, and much more.

Our vast domain expertise means we can help our customers sustain and restore natural resources… mitigate environmental impact… strengthen occupational safety processes… protect the health of employees and the public… streamline operations… and minimize risks.

Customer Spotlight

Chesapeake Bay Restoration

The mission: The ecologically fragile watershed of the Chesapeake Bay has long been integral to the defense of the United States. And the Department of Defense has long been an active participant in its protection. The U.S. Army manages more than 215,000 acres in the watershed, and supports a multifaceted environmental program that goes beyond compliance to incorporate restoration, pollution prevention, and stewardship initiatives into its daily mission of protecting the United States.

Uniquely engineered: Horne International has spent more than a decade supporting the U.S. Army Environmental Command in its efforts to enhance stewardship of the Chesapeake Bay and strengthen ecosystem management activities. Our efforts include program management, federal facility site assessments, rich communications programs, and technical program support.
