We also have a Corporate Advisory Board of distinguished business leaders who provide management with advice and insight on the company’s strategic direction.

Horne International, Inc.

Darryl K. Horne
Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer

Darryl Horne brings strong leadership to Horne International, Inc. As founder of Horne Engineering Services, Inc., Mr. Horne created a company that produced $185 million in revenue in 15 years. He is a licensed professional engineer and has more than 20 years of technical and management experience.

A graduate of the Virginia Military Institute (VMI), Mr. Horne was appointed to the VMI Board of Visitors by Governor Jim Gilmore and reappointed by Governor Mark R. Warner. Mr. Horne is also a Washington Trustee on the Federal City Council, an association of business and professional leaders dedicated to improving the Washington, D.C., area.

He is the recipient of numerous awards, including an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and an Ethics Award from the Society of Financial Services Professionals. Recently, he was recognized as a Top Entrepreneur by US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine.


John Krobath
Chief Financial Officer

In May 2008, John Krobath was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Horne International. Before being named the company's Chief Financial Officer, he was the company's Controller, a position he held since October 2005. Prior to his employment with the company, Mr. Krobath was Director of Financial Operations for Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc., formerly known as Wireless Facilities, Inc., and the Manager of Business Operations for PRA International, Inc.

Mr. Krobath earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from James Madison University and an M.B.A. in finance from George Mason University.


Robert L. Suthard, Jr.
Chief Operating Officer

Colonel Robert L. Suthard, Jr. (U.S. Army, Ret.) held numerous senior command assignments during a distinguished 28-year career in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). At the time of his retirement in July 2007, COL Suthard was the commander of the USACE Transatlantic Programs Center, which is responsible for providing engineering, construction, and related services in the Middle East and Africa.

COL Suthard’s USACE career included Commander of the Tulsa Army Corps District and Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff for the Omaha District. COL Suthard also served for two years as a professor of military science at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI).

COL Suthard is a graduate of VMI. He earned a masters of engineering administration from George Washington University and a masters of science in national resource strategy from the National Defense University.
