Competitive Award Expands Support to Cover the Entire U.S.
and Could Yield More Than $10 Million in Revenues
Fairfax, VA December 13, 2007 Horne International, Inc. (OTCBB: HNIN), today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Horne Engineering Services, LLC, has been awarded a new, follow-on contract to provide technical, managerial, and administrative support to the U.S. Army's Regional Environmental Offices (REOs). The contract has a one-year base period and four one-year option periods. The potential value of the contract over five years is more than $10 million.
The REOs coordinate, communicate, and facilitate regional environmental issues and activities of interest to the U.S. Army. They provide expertise that helps the Army strike an appropriate balance between military readiness and environmental stewardship. The REOs are assigned to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Environment, Safety and Occupational Health.
Horne Engineering has supported the REOs since they were established in 1995. Under its existing contract, the company has been supporting three of the four REOs, located in Edgewood, Maryland; Atlanta, Georgia; and Denver, Colorado. The new contract expands these services to include the fourth regional office, located in Kansas City, Missouri.
“This win is a resounding endorsement of the outstanding support that our team has provided to the U.S. Army and its regional environmental offices over the past 12 years,” said Darryl K. Horne, P.E., Horne International’s Chairman, President, and CEO. “We are excited to expand the scope of our support of the U.S. Army’s sustainability goals, and we look forward to working with the Army Secretariat and the REO Chiefs and staff as they face future challenges.”
